1 Sam 17: 45-47

“You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the LORD Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. 46 This day the LORD will deliver you into my hands, and I’ll strike you down and cut off your head. This very day I will give the carcasses of the Philistine army to the birds and the wild animals, and the whole world will know that there is a God in Israel. 47 All those gathered here will know that it is not by sword or spear that the LORD saves; for the battle is the LORD’s, and he will give all of you into our hands.”

AHHHHH!!!!! We speak this to any evil forces that TRY and come against the almighty God!!!! The Lord will deliver EVERY evil spirit and demon oppression that we speak against into our hands in the name of Jesus!!! For the Lord saves!!! There is a true and living God of Israel!!!

Philippians 4:4-7

Philippians 4:4-7

Final Exhortations
4 Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! 5 Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. 6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

MEMORY: PSALM 1

THIS WEEK'S MEMORY SCRIPTURE IS PSALMS 1. We memorize this verse about a month and half ago, let's keep them up to date!

Psalm 1

BOOK I
Psalms 1–41
 1 Blessed is the one
who does not walk in step with the wicked
or stand in the way that sinners take
or sit in the company of mockers,
2 but whose delight is in the law of the LORD,
and who meditates on his law day and night.
3 That person is like a tree planted by streams of water,
which yields its fruit in season
and whose leaf does not wither—
   whatever they do prospers.
 4 Not so the wicked!
   They are like chaff
   that the wind blows away.
5 Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment,
nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous.
6 For the LORD watches over the way of the righteous,
but the way of the wicked leads to destruction.

2 chorinthians 2:14-16 KJV

"Now thanks be unto God which always causeth us to triumph and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place. For unto God we are a sweet savour of Christ in them that are saved and in them that parish. To the one we are the savour of death unto death; and to the other the savour of life unto life. And who is sufficient for these things?"  2 Chorinthians 2:14-16 Thank you God that instead of the stinch of our sin you smell the sweetness of our savior.  For the one we are the savour of death unto death; and to the other the savour of life unto life. And who is sufficient for these things? We smell good to God and we are a taste of the risen savior.  Come everyone taste and see that the Lord is good. Have a blessed week!

MEMORY: 2 Corinthians 2:14-16

Hey guys this is the verse for this week!!!

14 But thanks be to God, who always leads us as captives in Christ’s triumphal procession and uses us to spread the aroma of the knowledge of him everywhere. 15 For we are to God the pleasing aroma of Christ among those who are being saved and those who are perishing. 16 To the one we are an aroma that brings death; to the other, an aroma that brings life. And who is equal to such a task?

Romans 6:6-7 (NIV)

PRAYER GATHERING: Halloween

Hello All!  Lord Protect this message and all who hear it.

For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Eph 6:12

Red Flags
I've been experiencing an great increase in demonic activity in the atmosphere. And I believe I and others have received these warnings to do something about it!

Red Flag 1.
A few days ago, before my prayer time, I sat down trying to concentrate and my mind was stormed with Demonic type images. I'm calling this Brain Storming, and I knew immediately that it was spiritual, and something crazy was going on in the atmosphere.

Red Flag 2.
After an intense LOVEmeeting between ministry partners to iron out some issues on Thursday, I realized that the first time we had a meeting on those lines, back in June, it was in preparation for some intense demonic manifestations and spiritual warfare we were to experience that night (Alabama Camp).

Red Flag 3.
Halloween is Tomorrow. Whatever your opinion about Halloween, no one can deny that this is a time when people involved in witchcraft, members of the occult, and Satanists are involved in some very demonic activities. And if you know anything about the Occult, you know that much of this stuff is geared towards attacking the church and christians.

OUR RESPONSE
I'm not trying to scare anyone...however we cannot let the ENEMY JUST GO AROUND AND ATTACK US, OUR COMMUNITIES AND CLAIM TERRITORY! We know this day is coming so let's GO TO THE BATTLE LINES OF PRAYER AND FASTING!

While in Haiti, I learned that christians there pray and worship from 12:00am - 3:00am to battle the witchdoctors, who are doing most of their curses and sacrifices around that time. 3:00am is commonly called the "Bewitching Hour". Because witchcraft is so common in Haiti, the CHRISTIANS HAVE LEARNED HOW TO BATTLE IN PRAYER! I say let's take a lesson from our Haitian Christian brothers and sisters and Travail for God to SHUT THE ENEMY DOWN this Halloween, between those hours.

PRAYER GATHERING
Tonight from 12:00am-3:00am there will be a prayer gathering at HopeRivendell. Bring instruments if you would like.
2021 Wilkens Ave. Baltimore, MD 21223

USTREAM
We will broadcast this meeting Via Ustream, if you can't make it in person you can still connect. If you have a webcam we can make you a co-host, and I switch the video feed to your computer.
link below

Conference Call
The Prayer conference call number will also be in effect. Call in to join in Prayer.
Number: 760-569-0800 Pin: 174882

FASTING
We won't have any food or beverages during these hours as it will be a time of fasting.

PRAYER
Please be a catalyst for prayer this Halloween in some form or way. Even in lifting it up during worship on Sunday, and have your congregation go in and travail! If you are being compelled spiritually towards this gathering or creating your own or would just like to stand in agreement about it: Please Call Me and We will go in immediately to the Father! 443-629-0951

WARNING
This will probably be intense spiritually and you will encounter obstacles even getting to Rivendell, because the enemy doesn't want us doing this. BUT WHO CARES WHAT THE ENEMY WANTS! HALLELUJAH! You can pray that every obstacle, be removed in JESUS NAME AND IT WILL. AND IF NOT IT WAS MEANT FOR YOU TO BREAK DOWN OR JUMP OVER!

For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Eph 6:12

18 Tricks to Memorize More Scripture

1. Read it repeatedly. Did you know you can memorize Scripture during your morning devotion? Instead of zipping through your reading for the day, pause and camp on one verse for a long time. You won’t regret it.
2. Pay attention. Sounds obvious, but often ignored. Simply forcing yourself to be aware of what you are reading can help you internalize the words. Repetition will make the mind wander. What you have to do is bring it back.
3. Visualize what you are reading. Take Psalm 1:1 for example. “Blessed is the man who does not walk with the wicked nor stand in the way of the sinner nor sit in the seat of the mocker.” Your first tasks is to see the three actions here: walking, standing and sitting. If you can see the three main actions, then you can start to memorize the surrounding words.
4. Create anchor words. In the above example, your anchor words are “walking,” “standing” and “seating.” In Colossians 1:15, my anchor words are image, invisible and firstborn. Whenever I get lost while reciting a passage I look for my anchor words to orient myself.
5. Recognize patterns. In Psalm 1:1, after the first line, the next three sentences follow this pattern: a verb, a noun and a modifier. Think of each of these as a bucket you drop the appropriate word into.
6. Start with the easy. Now, some passages are easier to remember than others. Psalm 1, easy. A page from Romans, hard. On your first effort at memorizing large chunks of Scriptures, don’t tackle Romans. Build some confidence first by memorizing Psalm 1 or the Sermon on the Mount.
7. Stagger. Sorry, not like you were drunk. What I mean is memorize an easy passage then a hard passage then an easy. Give your brain a break. This way you’ll avoid burnout.
8. Build memorable associations. If you want to remember difficult section of scripture like Romans 1:18-20, it helps to imagine God hovering like a brooding mountain over the world to represent all three verses.  This is a robust picture hard to forget.
9. Anchor memorable associations in chapters. These rich word pictures can also help you when you’re trying to memorize entire chapters of the Bible. They orient you on a larger scale.
10. Cheat a little. Once you’ve absorbed a hunk of Scripture, don’t be afraid to keep a sheet of paper nearby with keywords or section headings to help you out when you need a reminder.
11. Narrate. Sometimes it helps to describe in your own words what you are trying to memorize. This will also help you build memorable associations, spot keywords and develop anchor words.
12. Stick to a ritual. I find it easier to memorize Scripture in my car–I have a long commute–and before I sleep. Especially early on in the process of memorizing, I can’t remember my passage as easily anywhere else except these places. So, until I gain more confidence, I stick to this ritual.
13. Sing it. Try opera. Or a musical. The point is to be dramatic. As if you were in a play. [This is my favorite trick, by the way.]
14. Try mnemonic devices. Many of us learned ROY G BIV to remember the colors of the rainbow. Make up your own device to memorize anchor words or more. In Psalm 1:1, your device would be WSS, or walk, stand and sit.
15. Enlist your body. If mnemonic devices aren’t your cup of tea, use body parts. Classic example of this is Ephesians 6:10-18, the armor of God. Waist, chest, feet, forearm and head complete the armor and can help you navigate through this lengthy passage.
16. Repeat the alphabet. Say you just can’t remember that big word in 1 John 2:2. Run through your ABCs. When you get to P, it should trigger the word escaping you:propitiation.
17. Type it. One way to memorize something like John 1:1-3 is to type it into your computer. Not once. Not twice. But ten times. Maybe more. Your call.
18. Hear it. After you’ve typed it, next, read it aloud and record it. Then listen to the recording several times.
Don’t forget: As you work on memorizing, turn off the TV, unplug your iPod and shut down your computer. You’ll retain more.

WE musn't ever forget about LOVE... The whole point, is LOVE..
JESUS = LOVE

Going Hard after God's Heart leads you to LOVE... (period)

I have to be careful not to just accept everything i read or hear... if it doesn't pass the Love filter, it's missing something..

WHY NOT...?

I'm fasting...immediately. No planning for this one. The Lord just told me yesterday to STOP EATING. SO I'm doing two weeks juice/water. And I invite you too also. I started yesterday. The thing I really like about posting these fasts is I'm held accountable by telling you guys that I'm fasting.

Since Starving for Jesus things have drastically changed in my life. I'm persuing a new path in ministry, I left the church I was at, I may be living in a new state or country in the next few months, I had the most intense spiritual experience of my life while in Alabama this summer! God broke bondages so deep, I could barely take it. Everything God said He would do during the fast, He did, in amazing and powerful ways! I feel like I'm at a new place following Jesus...And its amazing. The stakes are higher now, faith is needed at a new level, and the warfare more intense...but it is sooooo good to progress.

Things have not all been easy. I've seen the sickness of my earthly state. Sins I never paid attention to, have come to the surface, and old temptations are still daily being presented. I've struggled, I've fallen, I've forgotten...However this time, I just went ahead and got back up. Instead of letting my sin consume me, I let the Blood continual wash me, so I can fight another day. The Prescence of the Lord is to good to not be in.

This discipline of fasting is so helpful in following Jesus. I always wondered why my flesh got the best of me, and temptation seemed unbareable. But now I see that one must Crucify the Flesh Daily. Actively kill it. And starving the flesh through fasting is one of the most powerful ways to regain control.

One week ago I had the most amazing spiritual experiences of my life. It was totally amazing! And when I say amazing...I MEAN AMAZING! God answered every thing we were asking for during the FAST! AND I MEAN EVERYTHING!

Let me begin my story...
Ashley, Perry, Chanali and I went to Alabama to minister at a High School Camp there. The vast majority of the students and leaders of this camp, were skeptics or had no experience with demonic manifestations, spiritual warfare and/or the spiritual gifts. The first Day of the Camp and the Spirit moved, the alter was filled with kids crying out to God. Service ended up lasting late into the night.

The second night a girl had an "asthma attack" while sitting down during worship. Her asthma attack actually served as a opening for a move of God, as the kids started praying for her and crying out to God. God started opening widows for healing, breaking of sin, and blessing to flow down!

During the third night something happens that starts to raise up our red flags. One of the leaders has a seizure, at the height of worship. A bunch of us go over to her to hold her legs and arms and also pray for her. The worship music continued to play blaring loud. Suddenly she starts kicking, and struggling with those holding her arms! Then she goes back into have the seizure. Later that night she shared with the group. She explained how she heard Josh Deter, Ryland Wilson, James Alexander and myself praying for her, while the seizure was going on. Now here the crazy thing...we were all praying under our breath or praying in our heads while her seizure was going on...and the music was blaring...she couldn't hear us with her natural ears if she tried! Service continues...this time a girl has a panic attack again at a peak in worship and can't calm down. More kids get delivered, another move of God happens.

By now red flags are going up for us four. This seems like something more than physical alignments or something triggered by emotional distress. And how could this young woman hear us praying for her.

That next day (Thursday) Ashley, Perry, Chanali, Jeremy, Ryland and myself pray over the campgrounds and over the area we are going to have our last and final service of the camp for a few hours. The service was to be held in a clearing in the middle of the woods. Ryland senses that we there will be spiritual warfare, and hears a word from God that there will be angels encamped around the area 20 feet in the woods. Worship starts very awkwardly, Grantland the worship leaders has lost his voice, and is struggling to project. Many of the campers aren't singing, instead just staring. After worship we take communion, and I start to preach. The message I planned to preach on that night was simple: The Disciplines and Discipleship. Who knew I wouldn't even get through the second point. I simple begin speaking about confession. I call the Youth pastors, leaders, and ministers to come up and ask them if anyone of them would like to share a time when they had to confess something. To my surprise every leader confesses something. Then I open an opportunity for the students to come up and confess to these leaders who have laid there hearts bare for them. Its a very moving time, as there are many tears shed as the students start bringing everything to the light. While the time of confession started dwindling down, I began to start to discuss another one of the disciplines when one of the boys starts dry heaving and then throwing up uncontrollably. I realize that he is purging, and share this with the kids. Then it gets worse his eyes change and he starts screaming and speaking in other voices. I stop speaking and go over to minister to him. Definitely a demon...actually 13 of them. That night 3 more kids manifested demons. Throwing up, kicking, punching, scratching, biting, screaming in multi voices and much more came out of these three. All of them had deep issues concerning family. Issues of abuse, abandonment, lost, repressed emotions and un-forgiveness. I had never witnessed that many demonic manifestation all at one time.

We were pressed to cast of demon, in the Name of Jesus Christ in the dark. There were only torches to provide light. With bible and flash lights we searched for scriptures dealing with the demons manifesting.  quickly moving from place to place barefoot, in the Spirit of Almighty God. I felt absolutely no fear. I've encountered demonic presences before, and they have freaked me out. But not this time. PERSONAL MINISTRY POWER. A boldness that only God gives. An intuneness that is only from Him. All four of us battled that night and the next day. Two out of the four delivered. The other two, we cast a bunch out but they still had open windows, and weren't filled with the spirit.

We prayed for it, and it was given. And that's not even the best part yet...because we haven't even gotten to Sunday yet!

Oh and I CANNOT FORGET! THE KEY INGREDIENT TO DEFEAT THE DEMONS! THE NAME OF JESUS. THE SCRIPTURE. THE BLOOD. AND LOVE!!! It was Love that broke their holds on the kids! A simple hug from a mother, a father. Them forgiving people that had done them so wrong. LOVE. Jesus is the Solution...and Love is the Means.

To be continued...

Love Is What's Missing Poster

Hey guys, this is the poster I made for my graphic arts class last year. It kinda fits in with Josh's theme. Love is what's missing so.....be love.

P.S. I miss yall!

Communion Cookout VIDEO

Post Fast

For a Post Fast eating schedule please look on page 26 in the SFJ packet.

June 1-4: Raw Fruit and Vegetable
June 5-6: Cooked vegetable (not fried) soup, beans
June 7-10:Bread, nuts, grain, carbs
June 10-13: Fish, seafood, cheese, sugar
June 14: Chicken, Turkey, Beef, Pork

In order to main a level of self-control while coming off the fast and moving into a fasted lifestyle. I would suggest deciding one thing that you will fast from for two months, right now. It could be fast food, or sweets...whatever it is fasting from something while coming off of the fast will help with maintaining a level of self-control and discipline. This could also go for faceboook, TV, movies, etc...

Also coming up with a Bible study plan is essential, if you are going to have a healthy intake of God Word. Make a plan, and even if you don't meet your goal you will still get a lot more accomplished then just winging it.

I have some questions for you and really NEED your input:
Would you like to keep on meeting?
Would you like to do more Starving For Jesus stuff?
Give me your Feedback about the Fast.
What could change? What was Good? What was UGLY
If you would be willing please write out any testimonies/dreams/artwork/experiences you had during this fast and post them or send them to me.

We shall always be hungry for Jesus until He comes BACK!!

Thats when our hunger will be satisfied completely!!! We Jesus comes back Lift up your heads O Ye gates!!! That the King of Glory shall come in! Amen!

The DEVIL IS A LIAR!!! Jesus!!! I woke up this mornig nervous like… What is my purpose now?? Like what am I supposed to do. I was sad like now I had nothing to strive for you know nothing to work towards… then nervousness set in like I had NO power. LOL!! The enemy comes roaring like a Lion! Jesus But draw closer to God and He will draw closer to you. AMEN!! These two were placed in my Spirit

1 Peter 5:7-9 7Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. 8Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. 9Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kind of sufferings.

James 4: 7Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. 8Come near to God and he will come near to you.

He will come roaring but JUST roaring because he has no Power!! the enemy has NO power!

We still have something to work for/towards the LORD!!! We still have power and there is NOTHING to be sad about. Still have a purpose Jesus!!! To be closer to Him and to HUNGER for Him. We will ALWAYS be hungry for Him until He comes BACK!!!

I love you all so much and yesterday was great!!! Dont let the enemy use you mind as a distraction either because he will. He will try EVERYTHING he can but we have been restored!! There is new life in the name of Jesus!

stay in your word. be alert!

this is just confirmation on top of more confirmation!

SMALL STRAWS IN A SOFT WIND by Marsha Burns -- June 1, 2010:

I had a quick vision of a bird flying backwards, and the Lord said: Take care and be watchful so that current distractions don't cause you to lose ground spiritually. You will have to take a stand and make an effort to maintain the ground you have gained. Keep your perspective and refuse to allow the enemy to get you off track. Preserving what you have is easier than regaining what you once obtained but lost.

Jeremiah 3:22 "Return, you backsliding children, and I will heal your backslidings." Indeed we do come to You, For You are the LORD our God.

DAY 30: Share your thoughts

Wow this day was a lot but was soooo GOOD! Got to make sure to get this out before Mid-night. LAST DAY OF THE FAST!

1. Started off teaching Sunday School. We have been studying David, Bathsheba, Amnon, Tamar and Absalom drama. (Generational Curses, sinning against God, etc...)

2. Went to First Progressive for there Famine Sunday. I didn't make it for worship but I heard it was really good. Chanali and Ashley led and I heard that they went in immediately! Also the a manifestation of the Spirit of Distraction came out during service really confirming what we were talking about at the last Juice Meeting! And God shut that demon UP! Isn't God AWESOME!

3. Then Ashley, Chanali, Marko, Chynna and myself traveled to a cookout that Sis. Trez was throwing as a Haiti Fundraiser for the youth at Monroe St.! GO AHEAD SISTER TREZ AND BROTHER DINO! What a thoughtful lady. :) God Bless her. Also at the cookout, I found out that there have been a number of high school kids that have been fasting with us! I'll find out details hopefully by tomorrow.

4. After that we met up with TIFANY and ANGIE at H-Mart! After rummaging through tons of great priced asian produce. We headed to Gaint...(which aint as bad as Walmart...But close) to find ripe avacados...which we didn't.

5. Next was on to SoWeBoFest!!! YESSS a festival that takes place in my old neighborhood in South West Baltimore. I LOVE IT! It should be called Lock/Big Hat/Hippie Fest because most people there have either locks, they are hippies and or they are wearing a big HAT! Met some interesting young people selling T-shirts yeah....dog chains on girls and gas masks. You got to see the video of the dude dancing, I got it on my camera. I will be posting an attempt at the rest of the Marvelous Light song (interpretative dance) done by us outside a ROCK CONCERT! And I reconnect with my friend LARRY STEVENS! YESSSSS! Chan dips out to finish her reading. (Good Decision Chan!)

6. Now we are tired, Except we are on the hunt for the very evasive 'Ripe Avocado' which took us to Whole Foods! NO PARKING! So we go in and finally find the 'Ripe Avocado' nest. Black and soft is how you want them.

7. WE ARE ALL TIRED TIRED TIRED! But back to Rivendell for me...but I have to go back out and drop off Markco! Had a great talk with him in the car he's been hearing from the lord! Keep this Young man of God in prayer, as the lord has wonderful plans for his future.

8. NOW BACK TO Rivendell and TIME TO READ 1John - Revelation! The end of a GREAT DAY!!! Then there was a fight between two girls outside my front door and I'm reminded to always be on guard, ready to pray and intercede because the enemy is busy. BUT STILL A GREAT DAY!

Day 27 - God Answer's Prayers - Share Your Thoughts

Why are we so surprised when God aswers our prayers?? Through-out this Fast, the Lord has been answering my prayers, but usually differently from how I "expected" and I usually realize it was answered prayer afterward. Has this happend to any of you? SHARE!?
