I think we pick and choose what to depend on the Lord for. I think the curse of trusting in people, and most of the time, in ourselves, comprises of being flustered, overwhelmed, confused, upset, unfruitful among many others I'm sure. Trusting in our abilities and in others' abilities is the same as turning our heart away from the Lord.
When you trust in man you will be disappointed. He can not always keep his promises. Sometimes his words are just worthless and useless, good for nothing but to cause grief, misery, discord, and pain among other things. Case in point, just look at the people who trust in politicians.
I'm struck by the harsh language that is used when describing what happens to a person who trusts in man: CURSED. I don't usually think about a person being cursed for trusting in man. The author here really drives this point home.
