MEMORY ROMANS 6:6-7

Romans 6:6-7 (NIV)

6 For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body ruled by sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin— 7 because anyone who has died has been set free from sin.

Let's have a dialogue about this verse. leave comments below.

  1. When you die your flesh life is over, so I think that Paul is saying that when Christ died on the cross as an atonement for our sins, the part of our lives that was controlled by sin should have died with Christ. I as a Christian no longer wants to sin. Sin has no control over me since I am living in Christ. I am also in the flesh and sin, even though I don't want to, but I am not a slave to it. I can ask the Holy Spirit to help me become aware of when sin enters my life and to repent of it. There is no desire in me to stay in a sinful state.
When in the world, I had very little consciousness of what sin was, the 'big' sins I knew. but the hidden ones I didn't know, such as envy, omission etc. I would like to live a completely sinless life. It sounds like heaven to me.
